When did you become a Christian
I grew up in southern Louisiana deep in the heart of a Bible Belt society, where being a “christian” is ingrained into a conservative, religious culture. The only problem is that many people only know the culture and not Jesus Christ, the King of
Kings. I had been taught about the dangers of living a life void of God’s grace in a private Christian school. There I was deeply convicted of the magnitude of my sin against God, when I was about 8 years old. It was a horrendous nightmare as a child to realize that the flames of Hell could overtake me at any waking moment, because I could never become a perfect person. If I could somehow reach the unattainable, there was still no way I could work to overcome the wages of sin being death. I distinctly remember crying uncontrollably and feeling utterly helpless in the midst of despair. In my desperation, my mother assured me that my only hope was undeniably and indelibly Jesus. That He died to personally save me from God’s wrath in response to my sin. It was the kind of news that sounded too good to be true. I had a hard time understanding how this light…. this life-line could actually be real. Finally, she walked me through a prayer to submit my life to Him. In that moment, my life was forever changed, and I have never been the same.
First set foot in MH
I moved to downtown Seattle in October 2006 from Hawaii, where a friend of a friend, divine appointment style, invited me to a community group in Capitol Hill. After two community group sessions, I began attending/serving the Ballard Campus as an usher and became a member in Jan 2007.
Joined the staff
April 2008.
How did you end up in West Seattle
House hunting… I wanted to find a place in Seattle to learn how to love the city with my then wife-to-be. My MH mortgage broker, MH realtor, and MH escrow people helped me settle into a townhouse in West Seattle to share a wall with my MH neighbors one mile from MHC West SIDE!!!
Scripture
“In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the SWORD of the Spirit, which is the WORD of God… “Eph 6:12-13
“ For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the HEART. And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account.” Heb 4:12-13
“Did not our HEARTS BURN within us while he talked to us on the road, while he opened to us the scriptures?” Luke 24:32
“And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the HEART OF STONE from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.”

Quotation
“We need to learn this secret of the burning heart. Suddenly Jesus appears to us, the fires are kindled, we have wonderful visions, then we have to learn to keep the secret of the burning heart that will go through anything. It is the dull, bald, dreary, commonplace day, with commonplace duties and people, that kills the burning heart unless we have learned the secret of abiding in Jesus..”Oswald Chambers, Utmost For His Highest
