“Tuesdays in August” concluded with a triumphant baptism/BBQ at Alki Beach.

Once again, our great cloud of witnesses descended on West Seattle to enjoy food, fellowship, and this time believer baptisms.

After enjoying some techno beats and delicious food, the roughly 270 attendees heard a quick word from Pastor Adam and savored the testimonies of Martin and Beth Barrett, Dana Choi, and Josh Sweet.

The party moved to the beach where the elders of West Seattle helped publicly initiate 26 people into the Body of Jesus Christ by baptizing them in the frigid waters of Puget Sound.

What a wonderful testimony of the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ and his atoning sacrifice for our sins!  About 15 people who came to the event had never attended Mars Hill before, and I know that many passers-by heard and saw the gospel in action.

Thanks to everyone for coming out and supporting our brave brothers and sisters who were baptized.  Let’s also remember to thank Jesus for withholding the rain until after the BBQ!
