2009 Men’s Advance – “Dying to Live” | June 5-7th

Men don’t retreat. They advance. This year, June 5th-7th, the men of West Seattle will be advancing into the woods of Lake Retreat to dig deep and explore the theme of “Dying to Live” with our pastors. We expect to be challenged, sharpened, and called to die – die to ourselves, die to the world and die to our personal ambitions – so that we may truly live. (Mk 8:34-38). We are trusting God to use this time for the forward progress of the movement on the west side. There is a discount for early registration. Save the date & visit this link for more information and to register.

Communications

The Mars Hill West Seattle Communications team is in need of folks who would like to help out with the church website and blog. Some affinity for writing content and copyediting would be helpful, but no experience is necessary, just those who have a heart to serve. Please email wscommunications@marshillchurch.org if you’re interested.

Not In A Community Group?

Mars Hill Church gathers in homes throughout the week for times of fellowship, study, prayer, and ways to love our city. Community Groups are an essential expression of our church’s mission. Join one today by dropping by the Community Group kiosk in the Commons or emailing westseattlecommunity@marshillchurch.org.

Men’s Morning Prayer

The men of Mars Hill West Seattle meet every Wednesday at 6:30am to pray for our church, our leaders, and our community. Join us so that we have many brothers standing unified in prayer and supplication before our Heavenly Father.

Prayers this week:

  • Give thanks for all that God is doing in West Seattle. Pray that people would get plugged in to community.
  • Pray that many men would attend the Men’s Advance in June.
  • Pray for the non-believers who heard the Gospel proclaimed on Sunday that they would hear the truth.
  • Pray for the community groups that people would get a theology of place and mission. Pray against the selfishness and passiveness of man that prevents true Gospel community from being formed.
  • Pray that the church would invite non-believers to the Church.
  • Pray for the Trial series that many non-believers would come to know Jesus both at the Campuses and on-line.
  • Pray for the campaign to raise Campus Pastors and Church Planters that 900 faithful and called men would step up.
  • Pray for those who are worshiping money rather than Jesus. Pray the people would understand the deep riches of the Gospel and would desire to give out of that understanding.
