Discipleship Training Program (DTP)
_missional internships
Mars Hill Church West Seattle (MHCWS) has developed the Discipleship Training Program (DTP) to identify, develop and train called and biblically qualified followers of Jesus to lead the mission of our “city” within the city. These are future leaders who are committed to living for Jesus and specifically called to leadership at MHCWS (or beyond) in roles such as deacon, ministry director, community group coach, pastor or future planter (church or campus).
The DTP is for leaders who are committed to walking in community together in order to be prepared, equipped and propelled to fulfill God’s calling on their lives. Our desire is to see lives changed by Jesus, the church equipped, and the Kingdom take root in West Seattle and around the world. The elders of West Seattle believe Jesus’ is calling us to be an equipping and sending campus: equipping the saints for the work of ministry (Eph 4:11-16) and sending the saints (Mt 28:18-20) across the street and across the globe with the gospel.
The primary vehicle for this mission is the planting of new gospel works (churches or campuses) which require strong Jesus-loving men to lead. The DTP has been created to identify and build such men. The program is 12 months long and includes…
• Work: Full or part-time work will serve as primary mission, engagement & personal provision.
• Service: Each DTP candidate will select a specific area to serve (CM, Youth, Fac, Admin, Worship, etc).
• Equipping: Study will be expected of each candidate. Content will vary depending on candidate.
• Missional Community: DTP candidates will be involved in a MHCWS community group
• DTP cohort: All DTP candidates will meet together at least 3 times/month for study, prayer, discussion.
Our time together will include study of God’s word, leadership training, accountability, encouragement, prayer and sharpening. If you, or someone you know, are interested you can apply online at westseattle.marshillchurch.org. All applications are due by the end of July.
For the King and the Kingdom,
-Pastor Adam
