We Are Entering Into a New Season As a Campus
Sunday, June 28, marked an important milepost in the life of our campus as we celebrated the sending and receiving of campus leadership. More and more it seems Jesus is positioning MHCWS as an equipping and sending campus. A campus that serves to “equip” (Eph 4:12) and “send” (Mt 28:19-20; Acts 1:8; John 20:21) sinners saved by grace across the street and around the world with the good news of the gospel.
Leadership Transitions.
• Pastor James Noriega transitioned to MHCWS as a staff elder overseeing counseling.
• Deacon Ryan Mount transitioned to Central to work with the Property Management team.
• Tim Van Liew joined the MHCWS staff team as Campus Operations Director.
• Deacon Shan Applin transitioned off staff at MHCWS.
• Deacon Alan Andersen transitioned into a new role as Biblical Families Director.
What’s Next.
• Mars Hill Federal Way: This fall we’re sending Pastor Samuel, along with over 150 others from MHCWS, to plant the next Mars Hill campus in Federal Way. Email federalway@marshillchurch.org.
• Discipleship Training Program (DTP): The DTP serves as the engine of leadership development geared to raise up and send out men and women who love Jesus. Since going public, we’ve received applications from around the world, literally. You can apply online.
• West Seattle Campus Relaunch: With the leadership transition, the planting of a new campus, and the start of a new leadership development process MHCWS will have a new face in the fall. As we celebrate our third anniversary we’re going to re-launch. More details to follow.
Get Involved.
• Gospel. Cultivate and stoke your affections for Jesus. Repent of religion and fly to the cross.
• Community. Get plugged into community if you’re not. Drop by the Connect Desk after service.
• Mission. As a community explore what it means for you to intentionally live out the gospel by loving and serving your neighborhood and city. (e.g. BBQ’s, Summer on the Westside, etc)
• Membership. Become a part of the family of MHCWS by becoming a member.
• Leadership. If you’re interested in leadership, start by serving and becoming known.
A healthy church is not measured by how many people are in the seats but by how many people it sends from the seats.
For the God of this City,
-Pastor Adam
