Missio Dei | The Mission of God in Seattle
November 6th & 7th
Missio Dei is a latin theological term that means the “sending of God”. The term highlights the truth that mission is birthed from the trinitarian nature of God. God the Father sent God the Son, Jesus Christ (John 12:45,49;16:5). God the Father and Son sent God the Spirit (John 15:26;14:16,26). Now, God the Father, Son and Spirit send the church (John 17:18;20:21).
In other words, our God is a missionary God who initiates and carries out his mission to redeem a people from all peoples of the earth, for himself, through the church (1 Peter 2:9; Mt 28:18-20; Acts 1:8). Therefore, mission is not optional for the church. Rather, mission is at the very heart of what it means to be the church.
In light of this, on Friday, Nov 6th (7:00-9:00pm), and Saturday, Nov 7th (8:30am-12:30pm), we are going to host Missio Dei: The Mission of God in Seattle and examine the theology, demographics, community, obstacles and apologetics of the mission in this great city and how it should impact our everyday living.
This event is open to everyone. We encourage community groups to attend together. If you’re not yet in a community group, there will be opportunities to connect with others that live near you. Childcare will be available both days. For more information, or to register, please visit the West Seattle Campus group on The City or click HERE
God is on a mission to forgive sin, make a people of his own and transform this city through the gospel. How? His people. Us. God is inviting you into his story, and…
The story continues.
