Men’s Morning Prayer Dies to Live

Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

by Pastor Cliff Low
This last week the Elders at West Seattle decided to kill Wednesday Men’s Morning Prayer so that it can expand and live by moving into the mission front of community.

For decades several faithful ladies, known as the Golden Girls, prayed weekly through the West Seattle phone book for the expansion of the [...]

Loving the city in the midst of violence, guns and graffiti

Friday, May 8th, 2009

We have asked all our community groups to find ways to show the love of Jesus in their community, but who would think that would lead one group to discovering a gun.

Community Loving Community

Tuesday, April 7th, 2009

By Pastor Cliff Low
I am writing this shortly after receiving a call from my brother, letting me know that my Grandmother just passed away in her senior living home.
I share this because I am writing a story about another senior living home. There is a Mars Hill community group in High Point sharing the [...]

West Seattle | Men’s Morning Prayer – 3.11.09

Saturday, March 14th, 2009

This Wednesday 15 men gathered early at 6:30am to pray. We began by talking about how the men had been encouraged by The Resurgence Total Church conference earlier in the week, specifically regarding the centrality of the gospel of Jesus Christ. As we turned our focus to the word of God, Pastor Cliff [...]

Building New Community

Saturday, March 7th, 2009

Community is a vital part of what we do at Mars Hill Church, and we are constantly evaluating our groups, and how we can better train and equip our leaders. I am excited that the face of community is changing, and wanted to share with you some of the “new” things that are happening at [...]

West Seattle | Men’s Morning Prayer – 1.21.09

Friday, January 23rd, 2009

This week the men from West Seattle gathered to pray. We opened by talking about the conversations we had with nonbelievers this week. We then turned our attention to Psalm 73:21-28…

West Seattle | Men’s Morning Prayer – 12.10.08

Friday, December 12th, 2008

On Wednesday, 12 men from West Seattle joined in fellowship and prayer, and contemplation of the scriptures. After sharing a few stories of encouraging encounters with non-believers or new attendees of Mars Hill and the conversations that were had through the opportunities God provided, we turned our focus to begin a new study of 1 Thessalonians.

West Seattle | Men’s Morning Prayer – 12.03.08

Friday, December 5th, 2008

God is continuing to draw people to himself, and this week we were encouraged to have 14 men gather to pray, one of which is fairly new to Mars Hill where he recently became a new believer. We gave praise to God for how he continues to call people to witness to gospel of Jesus Christ, and how he has continued to open doors to do so in our spheres of influence.

West Seattle | Men’s Morning Prayer – 11.19.08

Saturday, November 22nd, 2008

This Wednesday we had a smaller group of men gather to pray than normal, but it was no less powerful. Men shared how the Lord had been creating opportunities to share the gospel with the world, and we had some honest sharing from our hearts regarding some of the struggles with sin and circumstances in our lives. Deacon Erik Henrikson then had us turn our attention to John 10:1-18.

West Seattle | Men’s Morning Prayer – 11.12.08

Friday, November 14th, 2008

Early on a rainy and very windy Wednesday morning, men from the West Seattle Campus gathered to offer praise and make requests of Our Lord. Last week, in the wake of an historic election, we paused our study of Colossians to pray for our country and government. This week, we returned to complete our prayerful consideration of this rich epistle, focusing on Colossians 4:7-17

The Centrality of the Cross in Counseling | Redemption

We said last week that the atonement doctrines of ransom and redemption are interlinked. This week I will cover redemption. So what is redemption? Deliverance upon payment of ransom. What is the deliverance? Freedom from sin. What is the payment of ransom? His blood.
