West Seattle | Men’s Morning Prayer – 11.05.08

Friday, November 7th, 2008

This week 17 men from West Seattle came together to pray early Wednesday morning. This week was a huge week for our country, and we took a pause from our meditation of Colossians to reflect on two scriptures, 1 Timothy 2:1-2 and Ephesians 3: 20-21

West Seattle | Men’s Morning Prayer – 10.29.08

Friday, October 31st, 2008

This week about 15 men from West Seattle gathered to pray, and it continues to be amazing to see new men come to this prayer meeting each week. This week was no exception. It has also been extremely encouraging for everyone as men are increasingly sharing from their hearts, and pressing into the mission of sharing the love of Jesus Christ with the unbelieving world. Many of the men shared opportunities that God had orchestrated for them to share the gospel in word and deed from this past week. Then, to get our hearts prepared to pray we began by focusing on Colossians 4:2-6…

West Seattle | Men’s Morning Prayer – 10.22.08

Friday, October 24th, 2008

This week 19 men from West Seattle gather to pray in the name of Jesus, and began with sharing the conversation conversations we had this week with unbelievers and those we met at Mars Hill for the first time.

We then turned our attention to Colossians 3:18-4:1…

West Seattle | Men’s Morning Prayer – 10.15.08

Monday, October 20th, 2008

Last week over 20 men from West Seattle gathered early Wednesday morning to pray for each other, the community and our church. In addition to sharing about the conversations we had with unbelievers, we also shared about those we met at Mars Hill that were either new to our church or that we did not already know. One brother confessed some sin issues of pride that he had been struggling with, and his doing so was convicting for many of us. We desire to be a body of people that is tuned into God’s perspective on all interactions we have with others (see the apostle Paul’s statement in 2 Corinthians 5:16).

In addition to sharing about the conversations we had this week with unbelievers, we also shared about those we met at Mars Hill this week that were either new to our church or that we did not already know. West Seattle | Men’s Morning Prayer – 9.24.08

Friday, September 26th, 2008

This week 17 men from West Seattle gathered to pray in Jesus’ name. After sharing the various conversations we had this week with unbelievers, Pastor Cliff also encouraged us to seek out people that we do not know on Sundays, especially those that appear to be new to our church. This is all part of having a missional heart, and not wanting anyone to fall through the cracks. Going forward we will begin to share those specific conversations at the beginning of our time each week.

West Seattle | Men’s Morning Prayer – 9.17.08

Saturday, September 20th, 2008

This week 18 men from West Seattle gathered to pray in Jesus’ name. We again shared instances of witnessing conversations with unbelievers, and after studying Colossians we broke up into smaller groups to pray for the needs of our church, our communities and our city.

This week we had between 16 men gather together to seek the Lord Jesus. Pastor Cliff led us this week, and after our weekly time of sharing about how God had orchestrated specific conversations with unbelievers, we dove into the book of Colossians, chapter 1, verses 15-23

The Centrality of the Cross in Counseling | Redemption

We said last week that the atonement doctrines of ransom and redemption are interlinked. This week I will cover redemption. So what is redemption? Deliverance upon payment of ransom. What is the deliverance? Freedom from sin. What is the payment of ransom? His blood.
