On Saturday, February 20th, Mars Hill West Seattle will be hosting a special Financial Training Day, open to all of Mars Hill Church and the public. From 9am to 3pm, the Financial Coaching Ministry will host a number of seminars on a variety of timely finance-related subjects, including: biblical stewardship, budgeting and managing debt, investing, buying a home, real estate investing, finding a job and stretching your dollar. If you sign up (below) by February 17, the cost is $10 ($13 at the door), which includes lunch and all materials. The event is free for single moms. Limited childcare is available for those who are unable to make other arrangements. Feel free to invite your friends, neighbors, and anyone you think might benefit from this practical seminar.

Centrality of the Cross in Counseling | A Bruised Heel

In Genesis 3:15, we see the first mention of the atonement where God proclaims of the seed of the woman, “he shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel.” This is a contrast of the Cross of Christ and the suffering of Satan, ordained by God. In other words, Jesus crushed the head of Satan, as Satan bruised Christ’s heel. The bruised heel of Jesus happened at the Cross in contrast to the utter defeat of Satan at the Cross (1 John 3:8).
